You are here : Home // Collections of the Musée Unterlinden
The museum is housed on the site of the former Dominican convent of Unterlinden (“under the linden trees”). The galleries devoted to the museum’s collections of painting, sculpture and objects from the 12th to the 16th centuries are arrayed around the former convent’s 13th-century cloister. Folk art and traditions and decorative arts are exhibited on the first floor, while modern art (in the absence of temporary exhibitions) and archaeological artefacts are presented in the basement.
The modern art collection will be unavailable to the public from June 2012 to spring 2014. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we renovate and expand!
